Luke's Minibus 1st V6 24v cosworth now fitting a 2JZGTE

Postby Luke » Wed Sep 07, 2005 5:40 pm

This is my minibus nicknamed "The Old Girl"!!
ImageBetter pictures can be seen Here!!!

Origanally a mk1 now fitted with a mk2 front! just to avoid any confusion!
She 's been off the road for about a year now :( , and im hoping to get her back on the road for next month!! :D It was running a Di when i got it! but ive swapped the Di for a quieter 2.0 pinto and 4 speed box - but thats just a temporary measure! my plans are for a 16v dohc engine and 5 speed box :P - should give a good balance between performance and economy! i'd love a 24v cossy  but that may be too expensive to run! :(
Thats enough for now i'll update you on it's progress as and when!!! :D

UV Lamp

Postby Steve@CCR » Fri Sep 09, 2005 12:54 am

My good friend has made an error whilst describing my lamp.

As you can see, it is an IR Lamp. An Infra Red Lamp that kicks
out enough heat to melt a plastic bumper from 18" away.

I'm sure he meant IR rather than UV.

Dries body filler and high build primer solid in 8 minutes.

i had the same dilema, sliding windows or single pane .... the rot below the lower edges swung my descision, so i couldnt go for normal ford ones .... LDV 400's on the other hand are bigger height wise, and are also contoured just right :)

so i cut out the holes to the new size thus loosing all the rot and the LDV windows are riveted in by design so nice easy fitment. and the middle ones from the LDV should be small enough to fit into a sideloading door ... havent tested this theory yet, but it should be interesting finding out :o

The window frames wernt too bad ive had to do about 3 seperate patches on them - i cut out all the rot and welded a new piece in!!! :D
