Sunroofs - a job best left to the pros?

Toying with the idea of taking a sunroof out of an Escort and putting it in the bus (Smiley semi-hi top).
Is this a straightforward challenge or am I just asking for trouble?

If the latter, what's the cost of fitting one professionally?

It's not an easy job as the Transit roof is not flat so is kinda hard to seal. I wouldn't even reconmend it as a professional fit, even the webasto that was fitted in the Cyco van was no end of troubles.

I looked into this along while ago and it defo looks like a dodgy thing to do

fred has one in her mk2 there is one in mine but I cant open it its sealed up with silicone sealer

The Mk2 LWB has a completly flat roof, so they are easier to fit sunrooves in. I agree with Mr MP, leave it to the pros.
