Non Starter

Good Evening,

2014 2.2 custom

I went out to start the van this evening and it didn't want to start. Now every now and then i would start the van and it would be a bit hesitant but would fire over, other then the odd mishap the van started fine and run smooth.

Called the AA and they confirmed that the egr is working, 300psi in the fuel rail and he seems to think that it could be related to the injectors.

He tried to start it with easystart but it didn't want to know.

The van had a genuine fuel filter fitted 2/3 weeks ago.

Any ideas?

Post on here what happens when you try and start it. From pushing the clutch in and turning the key. What can you see, what can you hear

so clutch is engaged, i go to start it and it try's to start and it just doesn't fire.

Cant see anything unusual and its a normal engine noise on start up.

I moved it off the street and onto the driveway. When i tried to move it off the driveway it didn't want to start. The worrying thing is that it didn't even want to start with easystart

When you turn the key, can you hear the low pressure tank pump priming the system ?
Imagine standing on a bag full of slugs, that sort of sound

I can't say I've ever stood on a bag of slugs however I can hear the pump going.

Have you got any form of diagnostics ? (Forscan etc)

I do.

The only codes that come up are glow plug cylinder 4 and u0422 invalid data from bcm. Fault symptom 68. module ABS

My brothers wife's car wouldn't start when her egr valve broke. For the sakes of elimination, you could just knock up a blanking plate to see if it then starts

OK so a happy update

So it turns out the starter motor was at fault. When it was taken off the starter motor was spinning freely with no resistance.

Myself personally have never experienced this issue...usually it clicks or does anything.

Hopefully some hope for people who fear the worse
