Rear/Sliding Door Do Not Unlock With Key

Postby ericjmoran2003 » Thu Apr 25, 2024 10:42 pm

Hi all, I've got a 2010 T300 I just purchased, and unfortunately it not only came with just "one" key, but when I engage the key, the back and sliding doors do not immediately unlock. If I turn the key juuuuuust right, I'll get them to engage, but it takes some doing. Anybody else have this same problem? The connections look pretty good at each door.

In addition, I can only open the sliding door from the inside (outside handle doesn't engage) - but that's a separate problem I'd imagine

Depending on how your locks are configured, the rear locks should unlock by turning the key twice, quickly.

Do they unlock OK using the fob :?:
1994 Mk4 SWB 115 Minibus 70ps Di (R.I.P.)
1997 Mk5 SWB 115 Minibus 70ps Di (Gone, but not forgotten!)
2004 Mk6 SWB T280 Medium Roof 85PS 2.0 TDDi - Vantunered (Also gone)
2008 Mk7 SWB T280 Medium Roof 85PS 2.2 TDCi - Also Vantunered

There's no fob from what I know - I only bought it with a key. Was thinking of visiting the local Ford dealer to see if they have any more info, but I'm located in Austria so I don't want to incur a ton of cost on non-warranty work if not needed

Ok so the double turn definitely worked on getting both doors unlocked, but now the passenger door doesn't unlock, and doesn't even open from the inside if I reach over from the front seat. Back door still unlocks and opens fine. Any insight?

Your passenger door lock mechanism is probably tired or the cable has stretched, or both.... it's 14 years old now....they don't last forever.

Is there an easy way to manually open the sliding door for now, or just keep unlocked?

So it's just really sensitive right now. Back door is now opening fine w/ double method, but I really have to get it right to unlock the passenger door (which also only opens from the inside). So it's on and off. I love the engine on this van but it's confounding me otherwise
