Tyre Recommendations

Postby davemfox » Mon Nov 19, 2007 12:40 pm

Well here comes the old chestnut...

My 75T280 needs some front tyres of 195/70-15 and my local tyre dealer reckons that Semperit are pretty good.

Am after grip rather then high mileage from the tyres.

Anyone got any experience of the Semperits or can recommend anything else?

I wouldnt put semperit on my pushbike mate let alone my van!

My personal favourite's are Avon,Firestone, and Bridgestone if you want to pay more.

Everyobe will have their own likes and dislikes though

Yeah you are right on that, however some tyres will keep coming up time and time again.

Firestone??? They have a reputation of disintegrating quite spectacularly; I've also used them before on a pickup truck and found them the most unnerving tyre to drive with...

Like I said....personal favourites! The only problems I have ever seen with Firestone's is if they are run at the wrong pressures.

sh*t like Avon?????????????????????????? I take they are not one of the brands you sell then? Brilliant tyres, perhaps people should learn what maintenance is about :!:

Ok so we're upto either the Michelin or the Avon.

Anyone using the Hankooks?

Michelin Agilis 8) Last so long (and grip well in all weathers) makes buying cheaper tyres far more expensive :!: :!: :!:

I have also heard that Continental Vanco and Hancook tyres are good but have had no experience of these myself :D
