According to the code that is the issue but how to get around it. At the moment it is a dead beast on the driveway.

I don't have any checkenginelights with igntion on.
Only if i try to start the handbrake light comes on and nothing more happens but with PATS active that is to be expected.

My Forscan adapter arrived but it can not connect to the car. The adapter is found, when it trys to connect i only see a can error #9. Can you access a 1996-1998 MK5 Transit with forscan or is it just too old ?

I have not tried putting power on solenoid and bumping the starter. But i guess that will the next trick to see if it will run.-

PATS will only inhibit the starter motor, all lights should light up as normal when the ignition is switched on. Maybe you have bad connections or earths to the instrument cluster

Are you sure that you're seeing a handbrake light, I haven't seen on of those on a Mk5? Mk6 was the first Transit that I had with a H/B light.

If the PATS is preventing it starting, and you can't find the fault, then you really need to remove the RIM Module from the pump, and run an ignition switched live to the pump stop solenoid.

There is no handbrake light, it's brake fluid level, to bypass just run 12v feed to pump solenoid and one from ignition switch to the starter

you are correct it was brake fluid level light that did something.

Well i got the beast running, removed black box behind the fuel pump and supplied a switched 12 Volt to it.
Took the big yellow wire from the ignition lock and passed that one through to the solenoid.

Beast runs and works as i think it should. To bad i didn't get it to work the way it should with the PATS in place.

Still unable to access the computer (if there is) through Foscan and the suited ELM327 module. Anyone any experience with that one ?

There are no "electronics" on a Mk5, except for the PATS module, which you have now bypassed :)
