I know a fella who used do that with a mk 2 and I never broke a prop or halfshaft but centres out of the clutch disc were another thing Looking down at the tarmac through the windscreen a few times didnt seem to slow it down either

I have acess to a twin wheel mk5 axle but the wheels have a slight different bolt pattern that implies buying all 4 new tyres.... too expensive... can i install the mk5 pinion and crown in the mk2 twin wheel axle?
