my plan is to make a 3 berth camper with modern interion but keeping the retro exterior
the camper part will hopefully have 3 beds 5 seats at the table, gas hob & grill, heater, fridge, toilet, shower, 2 sinks, storage space, 240/12v electrics. all the usual camper stuff
ive done a rough design and it doesn't involve cutting any extra windows in (just incase i ever wanted to return it to a van in years to come) other mods will be, convert to rhd, fit modern engine (unsure what yet) to replace the 1.7V4, change to disk brakes (currently non servo drums all round), convert to 5 speed gearbox, change back axle to lower ratio cruising speed one.
so far ive been working towards getting it regestered as a UK van, once its MOT'd and insured i can get a UK reg
Ive also started to remove all the framework that held the fire kit and the rear wooden seats, ive also took out the half bulkhead, theres still a fair bit to do and before i fit any of the camper bits. and of course to preserve the condition i'll be fully waxoiling and undersealing it
i'll update this thread as i progress
my 67 pickup has a pedal box conversion so i'll have to pop up and look how thats been done
