MK6 SWB Cosworth YB Conversion!

Postby Luke » Sat Mar 08, 2008 2:20 pm

About time i started a progress report for this

The plan is a swb rwd cosworth YB powered mk6 transit, so far we have bought a donor sierra cosworth and this van :D

Image

it's a rwd petrol powered 330, plus points its a pritty strait van with electric windows and air con 8) also it has LPG, the plan is to keep the air con but not the LPG :D
bad points - it runs rough as a bears arse  (electrical prob) but that shouldn't be a problem once the engines out

I'm building the van with my cousin Stuart - he is SJB80 on here but doesnt like to post  hopefully he will post some updates as we go on :D i'll be doing the mechanical work and he'll be sorting the rest :D

other plans include a full respray, lowered, alloys, rear seats, nice sterio, fully carpeted etc. we are thinking mabe a WRT replica but thats not 100% sure yet :?

1st thing is to MOT the van as it is and give it a good clean

the cossy is pritty tidy :D - and it's almost too good to break but it wouldn't get scrapped as we'd sell the shell on with all the docs, if we find another in the mean time cheeper we'd buy it and just flog that one on complete :D

Stu's cleaned off all the glue from the signs and it's come up well - we've removed the bulkhead for sale here! also ive found a bare pinto block in the garden from a previous project - should be usefull for jigging the engine mounts :D

other than that 1 brake lamp and 1 headlight lamp and it's now in the que for a MOT
