Spanish back bumper bar came today. Bit dull but like new

Removed the back and side doors and cleaned the remains of the arches and test fit.

Been dicking about with a rotten connect but managed to get an hour today. I was wondering how I would get to the inner front arch. I have the drill for spot welds and I've done loads before but this 1 was quite pleasurable.I'm lucky really as the rot seems to be isolated mostly to sills inner sills which when you look at it from catcar you see that they all come apart and with the correct drill you quickly unstitch them and also a bit of cutting etc. Much nicer than the usual plate welding which let's face it is poor bodgery that promotes rust. My hope is to replace panels mostly.Iwill have to do some plates but so far the van is quite good after the external rot is gone.

Bit more today,painted some rust remedy on the step. I removed the outer sill and cleaned the inner sill. I've sent a question to Central panels to see if they supply it. It doesn't seem to be on catcar either

Basically the front outer sill and arch connect to the inner sill that I'm replacing, the side door outer sill welds to the inner sill apron i guess you call it.

If anyone knows the part I need?

Bit more panel work, first bit of welding done today,2 small plate ends, also treated it along the seam with loctite rust remedy.

The plates are behind the inner wing I'm still waiting for the inner arch panel to come. Paid 75 quid from central panels and it is taking a while to come. Meanwhile the same panels come up as 56.99 from another store,I've bought 1 for the drivers side and it arrived already. Pissed off a little tbh.

I'm doing spot welds of the panels and will seam weld where necessary,but the point is it is so far going together like lego. Although they don't seem to sell the inner sliding door sill plate to go with the outer sill panel that are readily available. Perhaps it is considered part of the sliding door step as a complete panel but I'll wager it'll be 1000 for it so I'm this case f*** that I'll weld it.

Strangely it has been a nicer experience really(spent atleast 20 hours in the last 6 months dirty welding big plates on transits for mot),I'm pretty lucky that the rot is localised to first and second fixes.

Well I've been scruffing around the floor like a tramp under the tramps van. Propshaft off and also dropped the fuel tank to get access to the underside. I've wire brushed the surface then sprayed rust away (as seen on tv) £20 to soak into the rust then once dry I've been using rust encapsulator (brown/red) £35
My dry plan is underbody spray like shutz but I want the white stonechip stuff that I can spray over.
Brake pipes are dirty but seem great condition so I might remove them and rub them down then I want to paint them again like new, green enamel paint?

Having removed the prop i had the wrong centre bearing so I've ordered a new 1 and while there I've ordered a gearbox oil seal.Ican paint the van while it is all off , I need to remove the exhaust and heat shield next.

While dropping the tank that stupid overflow pipe split off so I'll replace that.

Bit of welding and painting of the brown stuff plus my pet hate, I welded up the drill holes from the screws of the ply lining.

Shafty things today, pulled the gearbox flange off, bit of oil weepage so I'll order the 2 oil seals themorrow
Exhaust and heat shield put off the way ready for painting. It's a very clean van apart from the rust. Brake pipes are like new but are original steel.

Also fitted them using whatever worked, welding wire insert in this case science the sh*t out of it.

Best not pan up then as I haven't fitted the front plate too the consumer unit although it adds to the extra security in that any wouldbe theives might fumble onto a shocking experience

Also i need a few extra metres length to the lair so i can fit multiple vehicles in it
