Nah, arch is fine just surface rust. I don't want to cut into larger panels see. Also I plan to fit the plastic arches so it'll cover it all so a bit of pointless extra work if I'm honest. Been messing about with the disk for a could day's now, didn't need that.

Thinking of removing the engine to service it and get into the firewall area to paint it all.

Passenger side is getting there, I can see the end of the tunnel.

The drivers side needs inner arch front and rear etc but there's only 2 holes in the inner cill it is much bigger panel than the step side, i don't know whether to botch it up for the mot or to convert it to the sliding door then mot it.

Sounds like a solid project van! Here's a short and to-the-point reply:

Nice find! Looks like a well-equipped 2006 Ford Transit MK7 with good service history.

Highlights: 2.4L engine, SWB, GLX model with conveniences, 98k miles with recent work (brakes, turbo, service).
Project started: Interior/roof cubby voojio removal, rust check underway.
What are your plans for the build?

Special red paint I found in the cabinet for old pots of wet liquidy stuff.

The struts work and don't leak but looked rusty and tired so I sanded them then painted. Upcycling 8)

Mrs sisters boyfriend works in a shot blasting company and did it for beer tokens and said I can do stuff any time

So I'll be taking the front engine cradle and the rear leaf springs :D

Hence the following picture. Unless of course anyone actually wants to play.......

Spent 4 hours doing fook all. Steering rack lp pipe snapped and the m4 bolt that holds the plastic clamp snapped. Ended up removing the rack to try and get the bits out
